where to get a good spl meter cheap.....
Get the iPhone app that measures loudness. I can't recall what it is called though.

Dual Alts. How to do it?
Find a way to relocate or tuck those hoses and mount a second alt. to that ledge. I've had to do the same to my car, except it's not a Benz.

I had the same problem not too long ago and it turned out that my RCA jacks were bad on the HU. You might wanna check those out.

I push my Type-R 12 4 ohm DVC with 800 wrms and it gets smelly after a few min. with gains set with a dmm to 40v. You should probably go with the rated wattage.
