    HPF LPF for Sub Setup

It was my understanding that on an amp without a subsonic filter that the HPF on the amp acted like the subsonic filter to eliminate the sub from playing frequencies too low that could damage the sub. Is this not true?

Any reason to add polyfill to my setup?

I've heard there can be certain benifets to adding polyfill to a sealed encloser setup but I'm not sure if it will benefit me. I have a 350w rms 12" JBL sub that I put in a 1 cu. ft. enclosure (as per the factory specification for box size). It's running off of a 360w rms monoblock amp. Music...

    HPF LPF for Sub Setup

I just installed a 350w RMS 2ohm JBL 12" Sub in a sealed 1 cu.ft. enclosure powered by a 360w RMS 2ohm JBL monoblock amp. The other four speakers are ran off the headunit for now. I need advice on the hpf and lpf settings on the amp and headunit. Current settings are: On the Amp LPF 80, HPF 30...

I may have killed my amp.....

If you used a digital camera to take those photos, check to see if there is a button on it that looks like a little flower. Press it to turn on the micro setting. It will allow you to take those closeup pics without them blurring out like that. Most digital cameras have it.

    150a fuse too big? 4awg to 360w rms 2ohm

Just a heads up. I pulled the the said wiring kit from the vehicle to install in the other vehicle (it was in the car when I bought it) and I found a spot in the wire where it apparently got hot enough to start to burn and melt the insulation. So 150a on 4awg is a no no. I will definitely be...

    150a fuse too big? 4awg to 360w rms 2ohm

I'm installing an amp that is rated 360w RMS @ 2 ohm and has 2x30A fuses in it. I want to use the 4awg ofc power cables I have laying around from another setup. Problem is the fuse that is in the power cable is a 150a ANL fuse. Do I need to buy a smaller fuse?

Best sub under $100 RMS 150-300 Sealed?

Between the 12" JBL GTO and the Alpine Type S which would you choose? Both are similarly spec'd.

Best sub under $100 RMS 150-300 Sealed?

What in your opinion would be the best 12" sub under $100 (I know it's a stretch) for a sealed enclosure in the trunk of a small car like a cavalier set to run from 180-300w rms? I ask because i'm pondering two setups. One is keeping a 4ch rear bridged @ 4ohm @ 180w RMS (so no DVC on that setup)...

Is 75w rms too much for 40w rms speakers?

So would a clamp meter be the only way to tell at what volume the rated/max rms of the amp is being sent (or received by the speakers)? Or is it like max volume? I'm assuming it's the former as the latter seems too simple :p A clamp meter looks fun. I like gadgets.

Is 75w rms too much for 40w rms speakers?

I've kinda always pondered that. I know sony's are pretty much the low end of low but I'd still be interested in knowing if the ones that died at rated rms wattages also had all the other settings such as gain and whatnot set right to keep them from distorting to pieces. :/ I'm still debating...

    Does rear-out/sub-out produce full sound?

Right now I live just into St. Charles about a mile or so off of hwy 94.

    Does rear-out/sub-out produce full sound?

That's what I'm wanting to do.

    Does rear-out/sub-out produce full sound?

The headunit only has one set of rca outs in the back (two plugs L/R). It's a cxs-gt09. The amp only has low level (rca) inputs and I don't want to spend money on a line converter (hence the splitter). All speakers are 4ohm as well as the amp. If it was my car I'd just omit the 6x9's but it's my...
