whats the big 3 ill probably get a 4 channel speaker amp is it cuz of my head unit that it sounds like crap at high volumes

i have an alpine cda-9827 headunit and alpine type r speakers with a directed 1200d amp and a kicker l7 12" and 1 farad cap what can i do to improve my system i was thinking speaker amp because my speakers sound like crap at high volumes

i have a directed audio 1200d amp and 1 solobaric 12" l7 i bought a 4 ohm when i previously had a 2 ohm but sold it is there a difference?? someone told me i need to wire it down to 2 ohms? how do i do that? do i need to?
