bass blockers?!?

i have a alpine cda-9827 with alpine r speakers 6 by 9's and a l7 but i was wondering if bass blockers would help decrease the distortion coming out of the speakers at high volumes rather than buyin a speaker amp. i keep my bass on my headunit all the way down

would this help at all?

what kind of bass blockers?

I'm not familiar with the 9827. Does it have any built-in crossovers at all?

If not then bass blockers would likely be your best bet.

I'd look for something in the neighborhood of a 55Hz or 60Hz HP blocker were it me (I think those ByNines should play safely that low...)
