The guy at the hardware store told me that to wire a dvc sub in parallel to a mono amp, i need a box todo it. is this true? and if not(Which i didn't think i needed a box to do it...) how do i physically wire it? i know pos go together and all neg go together but how do i physically connect it...

I started building my ported box, and my dad being a big audio guy walked by and asked what I was using to insulate it. When I said nothing he asked if your supposed to...Then I had no idea what to say, so do you insulate ported sub boxes with anything? If so what options are there? Thanks
