    subwoofer install question

hello all, I have a question about an install that I'm thinking of doing. I have a Pioneer DEH-P710BT head unit, hooked up to a Pioneer PRS-D4200F amp using RCA cables. When I did the install, I didn't think that I was going to need a subwoofer, so I didn't install one. Now I think that I need...

    speaker reverse polarity

whats up, I just finished installing a new system in my truck. Pioneer HU DEH-710 BT, Pioneer amp PRS-D4200F, and four pioneer speakers, TS 602 2 ways. anyway, I did not pay attention to the polarity layout on the back of the amp and I hooked up two speakers backwards. On the back of the amp the...

    warranty or not.

I was going to buy it from Crutchfield, but it is not in stock, and they do not accept paypal, and that is what I use for purchases on the internet. I would have had the 2 year factory warranty if I bought it from Crutchfield.

    Wire question

I did not read where he said it was welding wire. If that is the case than disregard what I said... But he made it sound like it was building wire. I have seen building wire used in automotive applications and the insulation can become brittle, and then it could crack and peel off of the copper...

    Wire question

I would not use that wire for anything for an automobile. the strands in automotive wire are much finer and therefore make it more flexable and more vibration resistant. That building wire might not hold up very well.

20007+ GM Truck Electical Upgrade Thread. I stop when dimming stops.

I think I read on here somewhere that you should not ground two wires to the same spot...BUT, in my opionion as long as your crimps on your ring terminals are solid, and your grounds are clean and tight you should not have a problem.

    Comparing 1/0 to 4/0.

Maybe when compairing two different brands of 1/0. But the 4/0 would be able to carry more current even with the lesser strand count.

    2003 sierra dimming prob.

OK, you have two leads coming off of your meter(DMM). You want to set your meter to ohms. Take one lead and touch it to your amp grounding point, take the other lead and touch it to the battery ground and check the results. If your battery is too far away for the lead on your meter to reach...
