well, the thing is....i had them wired up to my amp a few months ago. it pushes 400x2 at 2 ohms. and they are single voice coil 4 ohm subs, so in theory my amp was only pushing 200 watts to them...and they are 250 watt subs. nothing really happened to make them blow, they just hit for a few...

well, i do know what i'm doing with a ddm...thank you. so i guess they are done for. any explanation as to what this actually means?

so i just hooked up all of my friends equipment, and when i tested the subs, they showed 0 ohms. i wasn't sure what this meant, so i went ahead and hooked everything up... i have an ac signal at the speaker wire, and i'm positive the speakers are wired correctly...but no bass.

ok. i have an orion 800.2 puts out 800 rms x1 @ 4 ohms. 400 x 2 @ 2 ohms. i want to know what would be the best setup for me? i listen to mostly rock/metal, but obviously want to impress people with rap from time to time. i like the lows to hit really clean, so the bass drum kicks really hard...

so this is what I have. I have a kicker 10" L7, dual 2 ohm. I believe it handles 600 RMS watts. The amp I have is a Orion 8002. It puts out 800 X1 @ 4 ohms, 400 X2 @ 2 ohms, and 200 X2 @ 4 ohms. right now, I have the sub wired in series, to one channel of the amp, with the gain at about half...

but we unplugged the front speakers and left the rear ones, and they still didn't work. we unplugged it in let it sit for about 20 minutes to see if it was in protect mode or something, and still nothing

that other amp might be going into protection because you might have the subs wired to too low of an impedance for the amp. how do you have them wired?

depends on your car. on mine, there was already a spot on the passenger side with a grommet and everything. on my friend's car, we had to drill a hole.
