I've reset my gains about three times in the past week trying to fine tune my system. I tried to do it again for the final time, and now I am having a problem.
The DMM is displaying a very low voltage even when the gain knob is turned all the way up. I havent had this problem previously...
Thanks for the replies guys. I'm wondering why people dislike eDead so much? I'm applying it in about 40 degree F weather and its not going badly at all.
This may have been asked in the previous 21 pages, but is there anything that you can do to the egg carton foam to make it water resistant. cover it with a plastic bag and melt it on (with a lighter) might be an idea? What do yall think?
I got this gallon of eDead v3? i believe that has been laying around for a few years ( and is hopefully still liquid). I think the time has come to apply it to my doors but I have a few questions.
I currently have solid sound deadener in the doors (I just got new speakers and theyre vibrating...
I have a 98 Acura 2.3CL with deadened doors.
Thanks for the reply Brian, that makes a lot of sense.
I got another question. I am resetting my gains and I noticed that putting the DMM in one speaker output channel produces a different voltage than the other. What does this mean? Which one...
Just got my CDT EF-61CFi/25 with the 560i crossovers installed and tweaked a bit (gains set) but I'm still not hearing the midbass as well as I think I should. People have been raving about the strong midbass from these speakers and it seems rather lacking in my opinion.
Anyways, it has been...
Thanks for the reply IgnoreMe. Can you explain what filter settings are? Are they the same as a crossover frequency?
Also, I'm not sure what a -3db 1000hz test tone and dmm are. Can you explain a little more? Thanks.
I have the 560i crossovers. It just seems like not a lot of sound is coming out of the midwoofers. I have a small feeling that the person who installed the speakers didn't connect the comps to the already installed JL 300/2 and instead used the HU amp. But who would be that stupid, right?
At...
Just got my CDT comps installed and they sound decent. I think they need a little tuning via the head unit. I know they are passive speakers, but is there anything I can do to calibrate them further? Setting crossover frequencies on the headunit or amp or anything? Any comments are...
Cool, well I just bought the Pioneer DEH-9800BT, top of the line Pioneer HU, which I would assume can run active.
However, are standalone crossovers generally better than electronic ones? You are really selling me on this whole active thing.
Its not like I really have time to get comfortable because I don't really stay in the "know how" once I buy my system. I can't imagine it being that much more difficult to manipulate an active system than a passive system.
@JimJ:
What about a crossover? Do I use the HU or do you also need to...
