    I just got rid of the 60hz hum by dialling back my gain levels a bit. Still a little static but not even noticeable until you put your ear right up to the speaker. Such a simple fix after I spent half the day messing around with everything.

    You may need to install a battery isolator which allows charging of both batteries but prevents one battery from draining the other.

    If you are running with a battery isolator you should pull power from it. If not it shouldn't matter which one you pull from, they are joined to each other any way.
