    USB SSD Drives

Yeah, when you only have one line of display (like I do now) it *****, but doesn't a 3 line display help with that? I'm seeing a lot more HU's that are making hard drive navigation easier because of popularity. Kenwood has software with their HU's that allow playlists, but I have yet to use it...

    USB SSD Drives

It's been a long time since I've been here and I can't find any of the previous threads where hard drive discussion was taking place. I hope I'm not beating an old topic, but I tried searching to no avail. Has anyone tried USB SSD's on their head unit's? If so, are there any power issues? I...

help me identify these Rockford 8's

when i bought my civic hatch a few weeks ago, the guy just left all his stereo equipment in it. i'm trying to find out what model these are to find specs on them. i'm going to throw them in my truck and would like to know about what size sealed box they were supposed to be in. aside from the sun...

Speaker EQ Help. Too much 'vocal', need to balance out soundstage.

i had sort of the same issue, i keep everything flat when starting out and listen to a good selection of genre and age of recording. in the end, a cut in the mid down to -2 did the trick. i don't believe in boosting anything over +2, this comes from being at at home musician with a little...

    Headunit/USB Problem.

i couldn't use the Kenwood software. everytime it ran it would freeze up when i did anything in it. i just drag and dropped the folders. i tried creating a playlist without the software and it did nothing so i just didn't worry about it. maybe i'll give it a shot on a thumb drive and see if i...

    Headunit/USB Problem.

very strange, bet it will be something simple, but i can't think of anything. i've got a 40gig drive on my Kenwood with no issues.

    Headunit/USB Problem.

a 16gig should handle about 15 gigs +/- . you'll never see the full 16 gig availble to you but it will be close. you say your clicking on the playlist. my question would be; are you sure the song in the playlist is actually on the drive? using FAT32 for formatting?

Head Units and External Hard Drives

try using this program that i mentioned on previous page. it will allow you to format the whole drive in FAT32 and not in different partitions. http://www.compuapps.com/download/Swissknife/swissknife.htm

what does midbass have to do with it????

wow' date=' i just don't understand this at all. being a recreational home studio musician myself also, this statement floors me. in order to achieve that perfect sound, you should want flat response from your HU to your amps and your speaker set up. you should be hearing the music as it was...

so after all that, i went with a 10" RL-i D4 SoundSplinter and it will be powered by a Alpine MRP-M850. in the end, more than i wanted to spend and not smaller by any means. there just isn't enough shallow mounts out that had the numbers i wanted and still could afford. i'll be able to make a...
