    What router to get?

I agree - for what's likely a local source try the PC 694 series at Lowes, 2-1/4 HP, fixed & plunge base; AND for a few bucks more you can pick up a wrench to adjust bit height from above the table - a VERY nice thing to have if you ever think you're gonna use a router table

    Crystal Mobilesound Comp 10

yes on the curve - the distance should be measured down the middle of the path of the pipe, including the distance around the curve

    Crystal Mobilesound Comp 10

Crystal makes some good SQ subs - not sure about how loud ported, but I would note the tuning of the box you describe makes the F3 value up very close to 40Hz, kinda high IMO.

4AWG big enough for 900w total?

What he said ^^^. Any answer is meaningless without knowing the length of the cable as well as the power draw (for greater accuracy, don't forget to account for efficiency losses, i.e., class A, Class A/B, class D, etc.) Alternately, look at http://www.bcae1.com

    Focal vs Bose

For near perfection, I'd take a look at the Scan-Speak line (for examples look at http://www.madisound.com): D2904 for the tweeter and the revelator series for the 18W/4531G mid. While you're there, you might want to look at the Skaaning SK300-844 woofer. (FYI, These are the basic raw drivers...

Official CarAudio.com Big 3 Thread (((PICS)))

I have some thoughts I'd like offer - take 'em for what they're worth. 1) Just like a fuse between the battery and an amp, the wire between the alternator and the battery should always be fused. The factory wire is fused (usually a fusible link) for a reason, same applies here - if the wire...

    power wire fuse question

the fuse is generally placed within 18" of the battery, but in any case it should be inline before the wire touches a place it could rub and eventually short-out, especially where it goes through the firewall, etc. Also, a fuse has a voltage drop associated with it - it would be best to have a...

    physics project

Attached is a crude drawing. Go to Home Depot/Lowes, etc, get some PVC and a spring - make the part holding the basketball hinge on the bottom edge by using a larger diameter piece of PVC. I'd suggest markings down the vertical so you could reproduce the shot. Should go together in less than...

Best Tech. Debate: Groundspeed vs. airspeed

job has no relation to common sense or brain power, and actually I do agree. I just pointed out scenarios where everybody could be right given one could make up whatever assumptions were not provided in the problem. In the AVweb site article the author says "My comment: Notice that the question...

Best Tech. Debate: Groundspeed vs. airspeed

I said earlier it depends (there are way too many variables not specified), but maybe I should have said all the above. However, to prop up those who voted no, consider the following: The problem as stated specifies speed not velocity, hence there need be no forward velocity (read the belt is...

Best Tech. Debate: Groundspeed vs. airspeed

The correct answer, like most things in life, is it depends. If a) the aircraft is stationary to a fixed ground point, and b) there is no airflow over the wings because of how the propulsion system is mounted, then regardless of the relative speed of belt to aircraft, the aircraft does not take...

    Focal vs Bose

the ones you think sound best to you. personally I like these best (but can't afford them): http:\\seaslotus.com\referencerange.asp

    Anyone know how to?

sure, you can use a distribution block to make the connection.

    Sub woofers in back seats

Can't help on the seat vice trunk thing. It isn't that convertibles "sound" worse. There are two factors: a) they generally have a higher level of noise, wind, etc., and b) since the roof isn't rigid, the cabin gain factor is reduced, i.e., less SPL for all other factors equal.

    why????

this is normal. it's probably loudest with just one window down, but that's somewhat vehicle specific.
