A 05-09 Mustang Ipad Mini Dash, making the ipad mini fit was a challenge since it was such a tight squeeze

since you tried all those things. get a multimeter and see if you are getting any voltage from the line out converter, if you can't get any voltage then that might be the problem.

like snapper slapper said, it would be better just to get a new head unit, you could get something better like Bluetooth streaming, usb, and aux and possibly better sound quality. installed a deh-7600bs in a mazda 3 and it was way better than the stock HU and came out to around $150 for deck...

if a sub the has a higher RMS than the amp RMS then you will never have a problem, keep in mind that RMS is ballpark number and isn't always what they say it could be higher or lower. I always say play it safe and get a sub that can handle power fine. go with the SXX if you are going to upgrade

5'6". its just all about taking advantage of the space behind the seats and finding a sub that would work, or you could take out the center console
