One voice coil giving a higher than normal Ohm reading?

Hooked everything up, both subs working like a charm!

One voice coil giving a higher than normal Ohm reading?

Well I don't know how to do a recone, and it would probably cost as much or more to get it reconed by someone else as it would to just replace the sub. I'm still going to hook it up and see if it works. I'll update when that happens, hopefully some time this weekend.

One voice coil giving a higher than normal Ohm reading?

Testing the voice coils on a pair of subs I haven't had hooked up for years, 3 of the 4 coils are reading at about 3.5 Ohms, but one coil has been between 7 and 9 ohms when tested. What could this mean?

Tuning a mono amp with 2 channels that are wired parallel in the amp?

I will be tuning a Phoenix Gold Xenon 400 watt 1-4 ohm mono amp using a multimeter. My sub setup will be two 8" 4 ohm DVC RE subs from RE Audio. Each sub will be wired in series, so that I am connecting two 8 ohm loads in each "channel", which I believe are wired in parallel for a final load of...

Good enclosure volume for 2 old-school 8" RE subs sealed?

So after remembering that in my old box, the subs were in separate chambers, I'm adding that to my design. I'm gonna with .7 cubes per each sub. EDIT: Additionally, which position should I aim the subs? At first I was thinking top firing, but now I'm thinking of having them face the rear of my...

    Subwoofer questions.

Exactly how tight is your money situation? If you want a ported box, it's better to spend more for a good box, custom-made by a professional. Also, since those 12s and that amp should be plenty of loudness for you, I'd say a sealed enclosure could be a good fit for you. Smaller box would take...

Good enclosure volume for 2 old-school 8" RE subs sealed?

I've decided I need a hobby, and what better hobby to pick up then one I've done successfully in the past, and is due for another go-around? I'm building an enclosure (for the first time ever, last time I had a friendly fella by the name of moelester build one for me, and it was great!) for two...

Anybody dealt with an install in a Cobalt?

Ah guys I really wanna do this because I miss having bass, but I don't think I can deal with rattles in my car... I want it to sound good, not like ish... I'm so confused on what to do...

Anybody dealt with an install in a Cobalt?

Two 8 inch RE RE's, sealed, 200 watts each.

****, that may have killed my will to install...

Anybody dealt with an install in a Cobalt?

Yeah in my first setup I used 4 gauge, but since the length of wire is so short I figured 8 guage would do the trick. But what is an LOC?

Anybody dealt with an install in a Cobalt?

Well I'd be running a 400 watt system so no Big 3 for me... But what else about trunk-mounted-battery cars? Would it be something that sound deadener wouldn't be able to fix/help?

Anybody dealt with an install in a Cobalt?

Nobody? Well here's a question that should be easier: The battery for this car is located in the trunk. Would that pose any kind of problem? I see the major benefit of using less cable, and not having to feed a power wire through the fire wall and run it to the back of the car, but are there...
