I know about the fuse holder...How do you connect wire to fuse? do you have to cut it or does it plug right into each end of the fuse holder? I imagine it will look similar to the 4 guage wire I have running from my positive terminal back to the amp. I don't know how they fused the wire. I...

if it's running close to the engine block what is that suppose to do to the wire? I thought it was acting as a fail switch in case the alt pushes too much current to the battery so it won't overcharge/explode.

At which point in your system upgrades can you expect to look into a HO alt/Big 3/battery? How do you calculate your systems amp draw?

I been to one. I have a 90 amp alt and I need an upgrade. The guy gave me an estimate of $1 an amp. so if he winds it up to 160 he says it'll be around $160. I don't know anything about altenator rewinding but don't he just add to the 90 I got so that will be more like $70 bucks??????? Also...

My altenator is pretty accessible.......just have to loosen the drive belts and unscrew some bolts. I found out I have a 90 amp altenator. do you guys think that's enough for my system below?

I was talking to a very nice-knowledgable sales person at Tweeter. He recommended I buy an optimo/yellow top battery to counteract the constant draw on my small alt. He says it would make a noticeable difference because the battery is capable of quicker recharge and therefore the alt will not...

Quick question, Is there an equation/formula you use to figure out how many amps your altenator need to support your system upgrades? I've heard of 60-90 amp altenators what does that mean? and how does it relate to your amps and speakers?
