On Alpine decks you can turn the internal amp off. Maybe thats your problem. Shouldnt be too hard to turn back on.

Actually with the 7892 and 7893 only th sub pre-out is 4V, the other pre-out voltages arent published but I believe they are about 2.6V. Im currently looking at Alpines and pioneers and the Alpine 7892 is a better deal than a comparable pioneer.

Im looking at buying the Alpine 7892. To anyone who has one...what are your opinions on the SQ? Hows the radio reception? Also what are your opinions on the crossover? Even if you dont own one I wouldnt mind your opinion. Thanks

Sorry, didnt read the whole thing....so with your sub, if you wire the 2 VCs in parallel, you'll get a 2 ohm impedance. Therefore connected to the 600.1 youd get 600 watts to that one sub. Im not sure how much wattage your sub can handle.

The 600.1 produces 600W RMS at 2 ohms.

The JBL 600.1 looks like a good amp but ive heard that the ratings are from tests done at 14V. Is this true? On the website it doesnt say what voltage they used. If it is, true, does anyone have any idea what it produces at a voltage that a normal car would produce around 12V? Thanks

Oh, I didnt realize they were they were that similar now, seems a little redundant but I got the $100 difference in price from Pioneer's website. The difference in MRSP is $100 difference....hadnt looked at prices elsewhere yet.

I was looking at the Pioneer 6400 and the Premier 640. The only difference I see in the specs is that the P640 has seperate crossover settings for front a back and a few different EQ settings. I thought the premier line had higher voltage pre-outs but according to the website, both these units...

Its a sony deck....CDX4750....in stores the year before xplod came out. Come to think of it, it may be the deck cause I used it before and it didnt do that but when I was using it in my car it was never connected to the ignition, it had a constant 12V source so maybe when the ignition turns off...

I installed a deck in a 98 Hyundai Accent. Now the car makes this beep beep beep sound when you turn the car off. Everything seems to work fine, anyone know what that sound is?

Im using the same speakers and I have them setup the same way it was when I was using the sony deck I had. I had that deck for a year and a half with no problems. The ba$tards that broke into my car took the deck, amps and subs but not the highs cause one pair of speakers is behind the dash...
