ya it does matter. When you are running SQ amps with very low distortion, the stronger the output the more clean juice you can get out of your amp. SPL don't matter, any 2.2v hu will do what they need.

Best you will do hands down is an 8" sundown sa8 v2, look it up. Only needs to net 1 cube and 500-600 will make it move. They can take a lot more. Im running my 2 at 2400rms and its tuned at 36hrz. They have the best frequency range around the tuning (like 10-15hrz on either side of the tuning)...

That thing is clean. I got a Polk momo c400.4 rated at 75 but does 95rms a channel. I would add cash.

These things slam in small cars like 2 seat coupes and pick up trucks. 2k rms to 2 woofers and you can get low 150's spl. People that have bigger cars can burb them at 1.7k rms. They a nasty little subs.
