    amp help... NOW!

From my experience with Rockford amps, it will most likely go into protect mode since you will be drawing to much current and shut off. There isn't really much that you can do unless you opt for different amps or another sub.

    Cheap power wire...

The number of strands in cable DO play a part in the amount of current that can travel done the length of a cable. Current travels on the outside of a wire, therefore, more strands, more current. Now the big question is "is it worth it?" I've never spent the time to work out the physics and...

Location of power amp main fuse

Not true, if your amp has a bad ground, then the current flow will be impeded. This will result in the amp working harder to draw current, which will cause the amp to heat up and possibly overhead. I have seen this happen to plenty of amps in ghetto rig cars over the years. You guys can...

Location of power amp main fuse

My point exactly, the in-line fuse protects BOTH the wire and the AMP.

i hate when people post questions and use that car stereo slang that no 1 understands

True that. It's also not really "slang" that is being tossed around. Its model numbers, and it's called being precise.

    noisy amp

It is not engine noise that he is talking about. What you are refering to effects the sound that the amp will produce to the speakers, but his problem is that he has a Rockford, and the amp itself is producing a high-pitched whine. The volume can be all the way down, but the POS Rockford will...

    Professionally Insatalled worth it???????

$50 to $75 does sound like a lot. But keep in mind that most people don't know what the hell they are doing when it comes to installing car audio products. Too many times have I seen people try to save money and do it themselves, only to majorly jack up the car or the equipment that they are...

Location of power amp main fuse

So what you are saying is that if someone who does not use an in-line fuse, and that their amp does not have a built in fuse (yes there are amps that do not have built in fuse) and lets say that they have a bad ground, that their amp will be fine? I think not.

    Professionally Insatalled worth it???????

Well that depends on how much you trust yourself! Most place will charge you $50 to $75 for an install of an amp. Anymore and they are ripping you off.

    Salesmen....

Lets be honest here. Most salespeople in the large chains are complete idiots. I personally do not much care for the salesman that only sales and do not perform any install. A good salesman knows the product side and the install side of the stuff that he/she is slinging.

    Do I Look Retarded ?

God, I'm hoping that was a joke. But to be honest, 50 watts is 50 watts. The problem with decks and amps though is that deck pwer is usually given in peak, while amps are rated at RMS.

    Do I Look Retarded ?

Yes, most sales people work on commission. Yes, they are there to make money (why else do you work?) But do they all lie and bullshit? No. You have to remember that commission works both ways. They get paided if they sale, and they pay if the stuff gets returned (they lose the commission)...

    Pioneer 9400mp help

LOL. Ok check it out. The blue button under the volume is the source button. You need to press and hold in for like 2 or 3 seconds. After that, the radio turns off and the clock and date comes up.

Location of power amp main fuse

The fuse box services 2 functions, to protect the amp/amps and to protect the car. The fuse is made to pop when you have a short somewhere in the power line to prevent current from travelling down the power cable. Now lets say that you have the fuse box back in the truck and you have a short...
