okay here is the deal,, i have 3 10's 4 ohm svc.... and those run at 1.33 ohms.... and my amp is a rockford x5 2 ohm amp...... would runnin 1.33 into a 2 ohm amp hurt........ or would this be okay ??? is there any other options??? thanks,, this is the amp i have for now,,,,

THANKS

From my experience with Rockford amps, it will most likely go into protect mode since you will be drawing to much current and shut off. There isn't really much that you can do unless you opt for different amps or another sub.

It wasn't like I hooked it up in the lower load and boom. It probably went a month before I had a problem, but the cause may not have been the load, my head unit exploded at the same time, never blowing a fuse and my highs amp was fine??

I've seen lots of people state they have a amp running at a lower load than recommended no problem, just depends on the quality of the amp, how sensitive it is, etc.

FYI

My setup was 6 JL10W0 and a PPI PC 2150 (charcoal grey) ran in mono. I believe the load was 2.66 ohms and the amp was rated 4 ohms mono (3 in parallel creating 2 sets then the two sets in series). It's been a few years and this was done by a shop but I was told that even though it was rated XXX it would push it fine.

Yeah, put the probes on the power wire and ground wire of the amplifier. Multimeter on DC. Do not put it on the wires that go to your speakers. M
