Thats the way every shop around here is. The only reason I even consider buying stuff from this one shop here is because the owner is one of my dads patients and he knows I'm not BSing about car audio. Its sad...

Yes, most sales people work on commission. Yes, they are there to make money (why else do you work?) But do they all lie and bullshit? No.

You have to remember that commission works both ways. They get paided if they sale, and they pay if the stuff gets returned (they lose the commission). They are not all out to get your money, and they are not all out to lie and rip you off.

Yeah, the bad salesman who don't know jack about what they are talking about piss me off. But what pisses me off more are the fools out there that think that they know everything. They are usually the snotty pricks that also wants everything for nothing, and also usually thinks that their ghetto *** system is the best in the world!

Now, he's giving me this absolute bullshit about how $339 is dealer cost. Now, my buddy owns a shop that sells Phoenix Gold. Another shop with friendly service also sells Phoenix Gold. I know that dealer cost on that amp is nowhere close to $339. So, I ask him why it's still $339 if it's 2 years old and why I don't head up to another shop and purchase a brand new Tantrum 300.2 for like $60 more ... He tells me that the XS2300 is not only a better amp, but a FAR SUPERIOR amplifier to the Tantrum. Again, do I look ****ing retarded ? Anyways, just to humour him and myself, I still acted like I was interested, so I tried throwing offers out there. No dice, he wouldn't ****ing budge on the $339 ... this guy has guts. Problem is that my buddy has a brand new one in his shop for like $289 and he would go lower because dealer cost is less than $289 ... Too bad for that shop, because I'm no longer recommending it to anyone I know ... People that insult my intelligence really, really piss me off ... I deserve some respect even if I act like a complete newbie to car audio and poor service, lying, and complete bullshit does not win me over.

God, I'm hoping that was a joke.

But to be honest, 50 watts is 50 watts. The problem with decks and amps though is that deck pwer is usually given in peak, while amps are rated at RMS.

Most decks will only hit their rated maximum if you drive the deck 200% into clipping. Decks just don't have the power supplies to handle high power output. An amp rated at 50 watts is much better than a deck rated at 50 watts
