Is 8 AWG enough for 2 amps?

The F-30 is 50Wx4 and the F-50 will be 300Wx1, both at 4ohms.

Is 8 AWG enough for 2 amps?

Currently have an Alpine MRX-F-30 4 channel amp installed with 8 AGW. Am adding a 10" sub that will be powered by an Alpine MRX-F-50. Instead of runing a completely new 8 AGW wire I had thought about installing a power distibution block and then run the 8 AWG out to both amps. That would...

Quick help please, installing amp in my truck

I would run all of the door speakers on the 4 channel amp. Put the tweeters and front speakers through a crossover. Your not using the 4 channel amp to it's potential if you don't. You can then run the sub alone on the secondary amp.

Do you think the dealer pulled a fast one?

Call it lesson learned and scratch them off my list. Went in to buy a Hertz sub, but they didn't have one that would work in my sub box parameters. Their receipts clearly say no refunds, credit only. No need to give them more $.

Do you think the dealer pulled a fast one?

It looks to be a good sub, but not absolutely sure. A lot of improvements are made in 6 years time. It will make it hard to find one so that I can have 2 with the same specs. That kind of stuff just irritates me. I like to buy locally to support small business owners. Makes me want to start...

Do you think the dealer pulled a fast one?

Purchased a new sub and other equipment from a local audio shop last week. Had purchased other equipment a few weeks before that from them (Hertz, Alpine, etc). When I got home and got to thinking about my sub setup, I figured I might as well add another sub. The problem is when I went online to...

    sealing doors with?

I would use Dynamat. Easy to work with, can cut with a pair of scissors and will provide good deadening to the doors.

Hertz Energy ESK 163L 3-way speakers, opinions, suggestions?

I have the Hertz HSK 165's and they are a very rich speaker. For a 5.5 they hit pretty good with bass and the tweeters are very crisp and dynamic. One of the best in that price range and worth it in my opinion. I push them with an Alpine F-30 which is about 60 watts x4 RMS. They are rated at...

HERTZ HSK 165 VS. McIntosh MSS630

I can't speak for the Mcintosh as I have never heard them. I do however have the Hertz HSK165's. The are a phenomenal speaker. They are better than JL and would put them against Focals as well. They need a little power and good signal to reach their potential. You won't be disappointed. I listen...

New Hertz Build, but 9 wire question

Completed the initial phase of the install. The Hertz speakers are very clear, bright and produce a great soundstage. Am adding the 10" Infinity Kappa sub to be powered by an Alpine MRF-50 (300 RMS). Swapping out HU at the same time. Thanks for all the info.

New Hertz Build, but 9 wire question

The sheet of stainless steel has been sitting around for about 4-5 years and it was free. I can now put it to good use and get it out of the shop.

New Hertz Build, but 9 wire question

Keep_Hope_Alive: It does not have the factory amp. Only runs off the HU. I figured if I used the LOC to tap into, then I would avoid tapping the factory harness. I don't like the idea of tapping into the harness. I plan on running new speaker wire from the amp to the speakers/crossovers and...

New Hertz Build, but 9 wire question

Need a little info. My Ram Forum is a little limited with audiophiles so I wanterd to check with you guys. I have built and installed a few systems, but due to life and kids it has been about a dozen years since I built my last one. I purchased the following, but they said to install it with a...
