well turning the gain up a little did help but not huge and it instantly goes into clipping a solid clip light comes on the amps display.

This still would do a lot more power than the alpine , it does 2500 @1 sure but @ 3 its still getting well over 1k and sounds like its getting 300 rms

Well I'm guessing they will take it back as it was installed at their shop by their head guy ...who even said after himself the alpine was louder , I'd rather get this amp working tho , since it a nice amp and will be future upgrade ready. Gonna try things over the weekend and if I can't get it...

One timed out and I didnt think it posted sorry I'll delete the 1st or mod please kill it As or the gain they set it untill the clip light went on then backed off a bit, it should be 3 ohms and around 1200-1300 rms it sounds like its getting 200 watts tho

It should be wired to 3 ohms I wonder if they wired it to 6 ohms that would explain a lot of my power issues.

ok so here is the deal. Replaced a Alpine 1000 watt @2ohm amp ( mrd 1005) with a Exhile 2500.1 The new amp was installed at a local shop and with 1/0 guage power and grounds, Everything was done right , now here is the problem its a lot weaker than even myy old amp .... The sub its powering...

Amp = Exile 2500.1 My 2000 golf consists of 1/0 guage all around , a yellow top and stock 90 amp alternator Sub is a single 13w7 and i want to wire it to .75 ohms then just turn the gain way down. Or would i be better off running it at 3 ohms and getting say 1200 rms, The sub is in a 2.8 cf...

x2 i run that amp and its not horrible , keep in mind my car is able to give her the power she wants ......
