well forgive me.. but... whats a 4 cube box and where can i get one?

I have one JL 12 inch w6 VERSION 1, and a JL 250/1 amp. It is in the trunk of a neon. Right now its in a sealed box, built to JL specifications. It sounds good, but i was wondering... would ported be louder? better? for my situation... i dont know... any input would be helpfull. Thanks =)

lol...... its not how much power is put out....... its a question of HOW U MEASURE the power that it puts out. Wattage can be measured in many ways is all im saying and JL is very conservitive on their ratings.

well... like i said im sure people will argue me, but if you can honestly tell me that an amp wont put out more watts at a higher distortion level then your mistaken. Its like those mini systems at circuit city that say 1000 WATTS in big letters... then u look at the manual and its at 0.5...

well... although many would probobly argue me on this, the JL can be a more powerfull amp in some situations. The JL does 500x1 rms at *0.05* distortion at 1.5-4 ohms while the JBL does 600x1 at *0.1* at 4 ohms and 1200x1 at *0.1* distortion if your running 2 ohm... sooo if your in the 3-4 ohm...

dam man..... ok to complicate matters...... i went to go set those settings only to find out the knobs are able to turn either direction about 2-3 times over past the ends so should i turn them all the way to the right or all the way to the left before i start...... and which one is the "front"...

im gona set the low pass at 80 hz.... when i install it that is...

actually...... they arent described in the manual i got with the amp even remotely....... thats why i ask =\ can anyone else offer help/opinions please?

Well being a complete newb at this...... i have bought a 80.4 amp from jbl for my highs in my car to go along with my JL 250/1 & JL 12 inch w6 combo. The question is for all the settings on the back of the JBL 80.4........ i duno what to sett anything too.... it has 2 switches called x-over...

also what should i cross my sub over at? and is there any other settings i should know about on the amp? thanks

I am going to have a JL 12 inch w6 version 1 pushed by a JL 250/1 and puttin it in the trunk of my neon. I would rather tight bass rather then big boom...... so should i go with a sealed box rather then ported? Everyone told me go with a ported but i think thats because they think i want...
