Checked to make sure everything is wired up correctly and it is, so I messed with the volts and the gains in the amp. With the gain turned all the way up and the volts set to 1-8 you can barely hear the subs and with it set to .1-1 it sound like absolute crap. I don't understand how the kenwood...

The alpine is rated at 1000w for both 2 ohms and 4 ohms

Well I have 2 alpine type r subs and had a kenwood kac 7203 sub hooked up which is 500 w bridged at 4 ohms. I just hooked up my new amp a alpine pdx 1.1000 which is 1000w at 4 ohms. What I don't understand is not only did the kenwood sound better it also hit much harder than the alpine even...

Eh its too late for that, maybe I'll put it in my car since I've been meaning to put a stereo in it too and don't want to add a whole lot of weight anyway.

Yep that was it, because I really care to impress you with a $300 amp. I'm more of a fast car kind of guy. Don't really know a whole lot about stereo equipment.

Lol well I just bought the amp about an hour ago and haven't even received the amp or subs yet.

Oh **** I thought it would be 1000w to each. Oh well.. Well I also have a kicker zx750 so I could wire 1 amp to each sub

Bought a pdx 1.1000 to go with 2 alpine swr1043d's. I'll have them wired to 4 ohms. Has anyone actually ran "1000w rms to these subs all day long?"

Alright I bought 2 new alpine type r 10s which are 600rms each. I decided to get the 4 ohm subs...which makes sense no sense to me because I can't use my other amps now.. So first question first.. What should I wire my subs to? 1 or 4 ohms and what is the benefit of each? Sorry for the dumb...
