How to achieve 11 or 12 channels of DSP?

Thread update: I decided to go with the Helix Pro. Not ideal, but it seemed too much trouble for no real payoff to mess with two DSPs. Have the unit sitting in my living room, just waiting on the new remote control to arrive so they can be installed.

DSP confusion- please help a noob

If OP isn't worried about having, or controlling, rear speakers then the DP PRO is overkill and he can get all needs with 8 channels for a lot less. In my own case, I'm a picky mutha who wants 11 channels, which no one makes, so I recently bought a Helix Pro myself which is the next best thing.

    What you know about supplements?

Lots of questionable advice being thrown around in this thread, but to the OP, yes REAL estrogen inhibitors such as Clomid and Nolvadex work well to boost free testosterone levels. Twenty-five milligrams of clomiphene citrate presents positive effect on treatment of male testosterone deficiency...

    Help, Im New

The diagram is valid, assuming the sub is a dual voice coil (yours is I'm pretty sure) but running an amp at 2ohm and really tapping into it on a consistent basis is going to generate more heat and draw more power. Depending on the quality of the amp, it may or may not stress the components...

    Help, Im New

First impression is that your subwoofer amp is a bit under-powered. The sub is rated at 500w rms, while the amp puts out 300 at 4ohms. Ideally your amp should be rated AT LEAST what the RMS of the sub woofer is, and more is better. Also, unless you add amps to the front soundstage, the Alpine...

    four ridiculous(?) feature requests

They are nothing special - just timed closer to the way they sounded on the original albums or cassettes. But a typical example of chopping up songs is what I did with the 20+ minute version of Rush's 2112. I kept in the Overture and The Temples Of Syrinx ( the best part ) took out the next 3...

    four ridiculous(?) feature requests

    2. it does not pause between tracks (ie: it plays CDs seamlessly from one track to the next, just like most home units do). That one really annoys me because several "song pairs" ideally require almost no delay between them, for example the instant jump between Journey's "Feeling That...

How do you go all out?

10 channel Helix DSP Pro would work, no? front tweeters (1-2), mids (3-4), front midbass (5-6), rear fill midbass + passive crossover to tweeters (7-8), mono center (9), mono sub(10) I just bought one with this setup in mind. Unlikely to ever use the center dash though.

    Component suggestions.

I have Hybrid Audio 6.5 Imagines ($300.00) and absolutely love their sound. In fact I just bought a set of carbon fiber 6.5 Legatia SEs for the front doors to replace them (the Imagines will go in the rear doors) One nice thing about the Imagines is that the tweeters can be unscrewed from the...

How to achieve 11 or 12 channels of DSP?

The dash midranges are HAT Legatia 3.7", the front and rear door midbass are HAT Imagine 6.5s, and the front tweeter pods are Alpine Dlx-f30ts (boughtnot yet installed). C-Pillar tweeters are from one of the Imagine sets ( the tweeters can be unscrewed and removed from the Imagine woofers)...

How to achieve 11 or 12 channels of DSP?

I thought of that at first, but it seemed so simple I thought I must be overlooking something. If I'm understanding what you're saying, the second DSP could theoretically be a just a 6 channel unit. And couldn't the front soundstage all be on DSP 1, and the rear sounstage + sub could be...

How to achieve 11 or 12 channels of DSP?

he he.. yea I need a full rear sound-stage for passengers + a picky wife I know that technically it messes up the sound stage a bit.. I would just have a couple presets and switch them around (from the remote ) depending on who's in the car. Also, I need to keep the stock head unit for now...

How to achieve 11 or 12 channels of DSP?

Is that a thing, or are you joking? How would the wiring setup on something like that work? The closest thing I could find online to what you are describing is this thread over at DIY MiniDSP: An excellent alternative! - Car Audio | DiyMobileAudio.com | Car Stereo Forum which looks a bit...

How to achieve 11 or 12 channels of DSP?

In an ideal world, I'd like to interactively set timing, eq, and x-over for front tweeters, front midranges, front midbass, rear midbass, rear tweeters, + one ( or 2) for the subwoofers. Currently have a 9 channel DSP (8 primary + 1 for the subwoofer) and tinkering with each attribute of each...
