My fronts are connected to the HU. They fronts are component speakers(Infinity Kappa), so yes, they have X-overs. The HU also has X-overs for the Front positions.

I just got my Pioneer 9400 installed two weeks ago. Everytime I start the engine I get this little whiny sound coming from the front left speakers. As I rev the engine, the frequency reflects that of the engine. When I shut off the engine, it makes this clicking sound for a couple of seconds...

I'm curious if using a false-floor effects performance of the amp. How would the amp dissipate heat if its closed in like that. Anybody see any problems with that? P.S. Great looking install.

and is also 1and a half DIN size. There's like 4 or 5 headunits that are made specifically for the GM and Chrysler slots. If I could get a OEL screen on a 1.5 DIN, that would be sweet.

How can I get a great system using the factory Delco headunit (I prefer the look). Is the output quality good enough? Would I upgrade the speakers? and add a box. Something like this. Infinity components front Infinity coaxials rear. Infinity BASSLINK woofer plus amp.

I'm going to power a set of Infinity Kappa front speakers with 2 channels from my 23 RMS/channel head unit. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using their component setup(seperate sub/tweeter) versus a 3 way coaxial speaker (both Infinity Kappas)?

I don't want all that crap in my rig. Period. I do understand that amps give me much more flexibility, but I want simple. Head Unit with upgraded speakers. Talk to me.
