OK this comeing from an Ex car jacker. First thing is use screw that arent eazy to take off like allen screw*yes* it takes more time to screw these in for when your installing your stuff but no jacker gonna set there for that long . screw all allen screws into metal "sub box too"from the inside...

You should never run just one VC on a DVC. Go to JL AUDIO.com and theres wireing diagrams there to show how to wire the a DVC . But to make it just a 4ohm's singal sub you hook speaker wire to one side to the + and the other side to the - and jump the other 2 useing one wire from + to -.

You should run the RCA on one side of the car and POWER AND REM ON THE OTHER SIDE. and make sure that the ground isn't grounded to painted metal.
