Yes that's it... The GAIN level on my amp is not max about 75% The Pioneer has a max volume @ 66, I turn it up to 44.

I don't even have to push my system but I get this weird smell...like burnt wood or something. Should I be worried, is this normal...??? Wiring/Installation all looks good.

I never had a problem with my Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X711, I couldn't believe it when Kenwood changed their MASK System. I would've picked up another Kenwood. Anyways, I voted for Pioneer only because of their DEH-P80MP/Premier DEH-P8MP. It's the sickest deck ever!
