I don't get it. On the first pics it looks like its just aluminum and on the others its rubber. Or is it just shiny? I Need to deaden so I might go buy some but is that solid enough even be worth it?

Yes, Fully functional like new condition with working remote plus ipod cable. And I have used the cable with my buddies ipod and it works perfect. I had originally planned on getting an iphone but that didn't work out so..........
