so i'm underpowering my kicker compvr 12's by about 50 watts each... (rated at 400rms, and i'm sending them about 325-350 obviously approximately) but i just bought two new ones cuz i tore the voicecoils out of the old ones. Now i hear people say they're easily overpowering these subs by 100...

talkin' about the Kicker CompVR 12's i just bought.... man, that blows. but i called kicker and they said take them to an authorized dealer for an OTC exchange... good customer support i must say. ps- bcbigbudz... what city u from... i'm from burnaby... and my the budz are big in bc

So this is the final story. I had this noise coming from a sub like there was a piece of paper vibrating against it (the same noise...) i pulled out the sub from the box and ran it at low volume just so i could figure out where the sound was coming from and it was the voicecoil.... torn maybe...

thanx for ur people's help... i'm gonna check on that tinsel slap problem and the fact that the wires leading to the sub might be hitting the sub (i'll fix that with duct tape)... peace out... ps- this board is dope

i got 2 12's ported and they F*ckin' pound... they are so loud my chest moves easily and my eyes vibrate when i'm drivin' (no joke)... not much SQ to be honest, but i listen to bass heavy rap so i'm not looking for sq. i'm sure if u seal these subs to 2 cubes each u'll get more sq out of them.

torn voicecoil?? dayyum, that would ****... is that a common thing (well relatively common?) could it be that my amp's filters (or crossovers) are not set to what the port is tuned to?

i've got these subs listed in my signature in that setup, although i'm getting a noise coming from my subs like there was a piece of paper in the box vibrating (like when u put a sheet of paper in front of a port and laugh cuz it vibrates) Is this that "chuffing" i heard about? like if it's port...

with a 4 channel amp, i believe u could just hook up each voice coil to each channel and have 200 watts (x2 voice coils per sub) and that would give u 400w per sub, from what i understandor u could bridge them as well. dvc allows for many wiring options...

Okay, I have a new nissan pathfinder and i have a dual 12" slot ported box. (pretty standard rectangular no customization, looks prefab but it isn't) I was wondering, does it make a difference whether i have them pointing upwards (facing the ceiling... box placement right behind the back seats...

Does anyone know roughly the RMS voltage of the preout's at the back of the HPX Audiocontrol Epicentre? I want to adjust the gains on my amp... anyone?

the new ones with the grills look sooo tight...

besides cosmetics, is there much difference between the old L7's and the new one's?
