Ya,

I needed some help wiring my subs to my amp...

I just bought 2 Kicker compvr's, 2 dual voice coil @ 2 ohms....rated to 400w RMS

and a RF 801X Amp 200x4 @ 2 ohm

I was wondering if it was possible to bridge the 4 channels into two channels and run my subs @ 400w but at 4ohms instead of 2ohms.

RF's website says you can do a 400x2 bridge mode @ 4 ohm.

This would put my subs in a series and increase the ohms to each speaker... so would that make the speaker actually run at 400w? or at 200w?

Thanks!

with a 4 channel amp, i believe u could just hook up each voice coil to each channel and have 200 watts (x2 voice coils per sub) and that would give u 400w per sub, from what i understandor u could bridge them as well. dvc allows for many wiring options...

if you double the impedence, you will half the output(general rule)

two 2 ohm coils in series is roughly 4 owms, and if the amp will do 400w at 4 ohms, then thats what it'll do. Also, be careful with max power vs RMS power.

If I were you, I'd trade tha amp for a mono that's stable at one ohm, and run series, parralel, parralel at the subs. That would give you the most bang for your buck.
