If the hiss is still present without a signal and no gain, then the amp is bad or poorly built. If a friend has an amp you can borrow, try it out.Yeah I did the big three and it’s a good ground. I’ve even taken the amp out of the truck and used a separate battery straight to it and it still happened, I just don’t want to keep buying amps if it’s something I’m doing wrong
Okay, what are the chances I’ve gotten three bad amps in a row? I want to make sure I’m not doing something wrong before I buy another one.If the hiss is still present without a signal and no gain, then the amp is bad or poorly built. If a friend has an amp you can borrow, try it out.
Is the hiss there without the RCAs hooked up?Okay, what are the chances I’ve gotten three bad amps in a row? I want to make sure I’m not doing something wrong before I buy another one.
Seems improbable, so a few questions.Okay, what are the chances I’ve gotten three bad amps in a row? I want to make sure I’m not doing something wrong before I buy another one.
I took the amp out of the truck and hooked it up to a spare battery to see if it’s a ground problem or if a computer in the truck was messing with it, and I literally hooked one of the mids up to a factory door speaker input and it didn’t hiss at allSeems improbable, so a few questions.
What do you mean when you said "amp is powered on from the speakers", "took the amp out and hooked it to a different battery", and "I hook one up to my trucks factory speaker wires it plays just fine"?
So that seems to point to something in the truck. Try moving the amp.I took the amp out of the truck and hooked it up to a spare battery to see if it’s a ground problem or if a computer in the truck was messing with it, and I literally hooked one of the mids up to a factory door speaker input and it didn’t hiss at all
It still had the hiss out of the truck. I have moved it before with no change. I’m thinking this amp is bad aswell, but I want to know why they keep doing this before I buy a different oneSo that seems to point to something in the truck. Try moving the amp.
Try grounding the case. Might just be a noisy design. It still had the hiss out of the truck. I have moved it before with no change. I’m thinking this amp is bad aswell, but I want to know why they keep doing this before I buy a different one
