What annoys the ***** outta you/pisses you off...

The biggest way members can help is becoming a Premium member. I realize money is tight these days and with the low amount of new posts, I can see why that’s a tough sell. We had lots of sponsors over the years, but as traffic goes so do they. A gofundme may be a possibility also, if we even have enough members left that want to save the site.

Google removing and deranking the links over the past few years is a main culprit, along with AI search. The domain is indeed good for someone in the car audio industry. It was great for forum use, that’s for sure.

I agree with @Buck some sort of direct donation button would be good
Alot of people myself included aren't really into the subscription idea because so much of that

I think someone else said that haha but it's all good

Yes we definitely want to see your scrap wood boxes, even if it's got bend nails sticking out and duct tape sealing gaps in joints
If they had duct tape and nails sticking out, that could be at least entertaining 😆 , but when I say scrap wood, I mean whatever wood I‘ve found free out on trash day over the years, or that I have left over, and just a basic slot ported box. Most really don't care to see another ported plywood box with 20 year old cheap subs, it offers nothing helpful except adding another post or thread, but nobody would care enough to even comment on it, just too basic / simple. I built a lot of boxes when I was younger, so have not used tape to seal them in about 20 years. 😆

Harris Teeter just made the list. 10 or 12 registers. All closed @ 9:30pm. Two teenagers standing next to two rows of self check out registers. Literally standing there, getting paid to laugh when the other one mentions tentacle ****. I hate f**king self check out registers. Did this start when millennials started moving up in the corporate world? They came up with a business model where as the customer will check themselves out, we will charge more for the product and pay fewer people to stand around.

They’ve tried multiple times in the past to buy this site. But these days they’re doing so bad, they told me they aren’t currently buying anymore forums.

I was talking to a few other online forums. There were about motorcycles, RC cars, and regular cars. They were all once at the top, and are still considered as the top forums, in their area of interest, but they were also telling me how slow their site has gotten. I already recognized it, but I didn't put the conclusion together that they were all dwindling. The motorcycle forum owns other forums and he said it's all across the board. People will on go there to ask specific questions then never return until they have another question. He said they are all moving to Facebook.

Exactly what’s happening here. A new member joins, asks a question and disappears, a lot without even saying thanks for the help. Others join, never post and never return. Every blue moon, a new member sticks around and participates in the community. It’s sad and clearly not the way we want things to go, but comforting knowing we’re not the only ones that this is happening to.

I think that's why reddit works. They generate so much traffic it doesn't matter if somebody pops in and disappears after a few posts. Unfortunately, that leads to a ton of crap advise.

That's exactly what is happening on all the other sites. Seriously, you can only talk about one topic for a short time. Like hanging with friends, you start with one topic, and 10 minutes later, you're on your 5th topic. If all of your regulars, including you and I, were hanging out fishing on a dock, we would talk about car audio for about 30 minutes. We talk about our past builds and dream builds. Then we would move onto completely different topics. This is why "Topic Specific" forums are dying off.

There was an RC site that had a room where everyone can talk about what ever topic they wanted. Well, a heated political topic came up and that room was shut down. Another room opened up, but it was quickly shut down because some members were extremely sensitive and reported everything they didn't like. Within a month, that place became really slow. By no means am I asking for you to return the Current Events room. That place was kinda toxic.

Anyhow... The RC forum stay alive because of all the 'What's New" posts. Whenever a new product comes out, someone will post all about it. Therefore, when someone Googles that product, the RC forum pops up. Maybe that would be a good thing to add here.

Yeah some forums are super dead.. Look at Parts express tech talk forum, Topics stay on the first page for over a year..
I attribute traffic loss to increasing attention span deficit due to video shorts from Youtube. I have found myself binging to the wee hours until the phone drops on my face. Add to this the access of AI search engines where your specific question is answered within seconds. That is an extension of our short attention span. I am guilty of preferring AI search for a quick response.
