What annoys the ***** outta you/pisses you off...

The political thunder dome topic shouldn’t show up on the dash board notifications as this site is an audio forum as it might push people away.

The admin keeps saying traffic is down because google but to be fair all forums are dead except diyamobileaudio. I just visited CACO to look info on some Obsidian subwoofers (graveyard dead) and found some info Sundownz posted before he was solely activated on Facebook because it was too much for him to post all car audio forums. So yeah Facebook replaced lots of web stuff and only a few years ago I finally joined because I couldn’t no longer find anything on the web because everything was on marketplace and drama groups.
For a good long while I removed the off-topic thunderdome threads from the new threads block on the homepage, even made it members only viewable. That didn’t help either, as site traffic still resembled an inverse chart of the US debt. So then I figured, hey, if off-topic is all anyone wants to talk about, why not start including it again in on the homepage and also make the site appear more active.

I guess the reason diyma is still fine is they haven’t lost 90% of their regular active membership like we have, due to a number of reasons, a lot out of our control. All other car audio forums are doing terrible that I know of. Home audio forums however are doing great, is why I started a new forum here on that.

Another thorn in the side is ads just don’t pay anymore. The site has made $6.38 this month on ad revenue. The costs to keep the site going are close to $200 a month. I guess we could get a lower cost server, but then if page loading speed is compromised, Google hurts the site rankings even further and that means even less traffic. There’s no doubt in my mind they’re trying to kill any website that they don’t have a direct interest in. Gone are the days when they were a trusted search engine. No one is trying that hard to take their place either and the Gov’t is just fine letting them be a monopoly.

You will own nothing and be happy. It's not a joke, the technocracy is here

That’s probably the agenda. Nothing really ever comes of these lawsuits, besides a slap on the wrist. Not a lot you can do to stop a multi-trillion dollar company, also in bed with the gov’t.
Considering google helped china make dragonfly, which is a search engine that censors for the CCP, I'd bet there's similar with the US gov.

From what I understand that sort of laid the framework for their system. Google is clearly being used to eat or consume smaller whatever's on the internet and slowly collapse them in order to drive people towards other larger businesses or monopolies, basically. Just like bankers cause the crash during the Great Depression and come back and buy up everything for pennies on the dollar. Googles doing the same with the internet with their ad business. They're clearly using their ad monopoly to force some larger social or political or business agenda. It's like how Rockefeller manipulated the rail shipping costs for oil to drive competitors out of business. Google has its own political or even religious-technocracy goals they're enforcing through things like their ad monopoly. It's beyond just a business, it's manipulating the money flow of the entire internet for their personal goals by unfair punishment.

It's not like anybody is forced to read those threads. I think it's just the few people who come here get an answer and move on.
Most people do come, get their answer, then move along. I think we need to have them leave thinking "That was exactly what I needed to hear," instead of "Maybe a new system is way over my head. I'll go to Best Buy for advice."

After hearing the stories, from people who came to me, I stepped back to the days I helping out on the floor to sell equipment. People get scared with presented with too many options. They only want to be told "this will give you what you are looking for." I found it best to provide them brands that they are familiar with. I remember pushing Dual equipment, to a customer, because he loved his friend's Dual setup.

Private message feature also can handle this, correct?
Um, no... the chat room thing is literally in real time. I know the one over there has the chat room that everyone can enter and chat like you were on a phone and up in the corner in a button to join a private chat 1 on 1. When you see it, they make sense. I also don't think it stores the messages so no sever storage space needed.

It would make a political thread pointless as people could debate and when they are done the chat room is exited.

Agreed. I think all the big players prefer everything running through the other big players and in essence there is the illusion of infinite access, but reality is everything is Facebook, Reddit, Quora, Instagram, etc. DIYmobile is truly an outlier. Seems like the car forums do all right, but forums in general are dying.
