What annoys the ***** outta you/pisses you off...

I think there could one of two or may both things are going on. One it looks like my two missing packages may have been delivered to the same house (hard to tell for sure from the angle of the pictures). Maybe some brilliant FedEx delivery guy figured he could lose a package here and there and create a little "victimless" criminal enterprise for himself. The other thing I noticed is that FedEx's shipping rates are suddenly more competitive. Maybe they've made some cuts that are effecting customer service. I know for sure my packages didn't make it within ~1 mile of my home since the homes don't look like anything in the area I live in.

All I know is I have another shipment coming FedEx and this one is for a unique snowboard that cannot be replaced if gets "lost." So now I have to arrange for them to hold it for pick up. Won't be using FedEx in the future.
Every FedEx label that we used internally at FedEx tells us several things. Where in the route the package falls. Where in the truck the package is to be placed to correspond to the route. The customer. The address. Small packages can fall and slide under shelves only to be found later. 9 times out of 10 the driver will find it later and put into his electronic device that the customer was not home or the business was closed or one of the many options they gave us. They would then take a random picture to attach to it.

Not surprised. I worked in USPS sort center and your package goes from Denver to Portland to Charlotte because a package ended up on the floor and rather than put back in the resort bin or figure out where it goes, they would just toss it in the nearest bin and it goes wherever it goes.

I had a minor visit to the ENT Dr. today. Apparently after my ear surgery in 2018 a polyp grew in front of my ear drum. I guess it has been resting against it for some time. Well, my ear got infected. Started leaking clear fluid. Then started leaking blood. I went to the Urgent care where she put me on antibiotic drops. As soon as the drops started my ear swelled up on the surgery scar and a sac pushed through it. That burst last night and green puss was all over the place. All this because the polyp burst, got infected, got through the hole in my eardrum, infected my inner ear and went wild.

The ear doctor sucked out the trash in my ear canal, REMOVED the polyp and gave me some oral antibiotics and a topical cream. He kind of chuckled and said tell me when you notice a difference. He scraped out and removed the polyp and BAM!! My hearing is back!! I said I notice I can hear!!! He said no shit, you had a polyp covering half your eardrum. He said, see ya in 2 weeks for a follow up.

At this point hasn't every thing been covered on this site? I mean there is a search button. Getting mad at members and shutting down threads isn't going to make the site suddenly come to life. You can't help everyone that has a question. How do people with general car audio knowledge help a person with a 2025 Tesla install a new stereo???

You’re totally right! Everything politics, and I’m guessing according to you and other members, everything car audio has been covered also. That’s why it’s closing very soon, unless something miraculous occurs.

Vent at me all you want. I tried and failed to keep this site alive, I realize that. A lot of it was out of my hands however. It takes members to keep it alive also and they also either lost interest, gave up, or failed. It is what it is…

Was a good, long run!

Think about it. Electronics in cars have become a major part of the car and trying to add audio to them can really screw them up. How many of us on this site are legit "Expert Installers" and have the knowledge of these newer cars to help someone without screwing up their rides? Unless there is a serge of people who want to drive 80's and 90's cars... what can we do?

Yep, these new cars with their integrated infotainment 85 speaker set up really took a toll on the car audio scene
Personally i don't care
I'll cut it all out with a Sawzall weather it's a $5000 or $100,000 car (my own of course)
It's the main reason I picked up a bare bones base jeep patriot
Hell i have manual locks and manual windows on a 2016 🤣
But it has air conditioning! So I guess I'm pretty up there with the luxuriosness

To be honest, all the negative political talk could, and I'm sure it has, drive people away.

I still do installs on a professional level. I currently don't do it for a living, but I did it for over 10 years out of high-end shops. With the new cars coming with the "Don't F'n touch me" audio systems, people are not into upgrading them and it gets harder to do the installs. Alarms are worse.

The only time people come here is when they are doing research on a system. I ran into a guy who came in here asking questions and he received so much product choices that he lost interest. People telling him to get brands he never heard of before when he was only asking about Kicker, Fosgate, and JL Audio. If they ask for other options, we could then offer opinions on brands we are personally familiar with. These Chinese amps just don't seem to have the reliability as the more popular brands.

We should be more in-tuned with what they are actually asking and not what our actual wish list is. For example, we get people wanting to add a sub and they are bombarded with others telling them to get 2-2000 watt subs and a 5000 watt amp. WHY? So they can have major electrical upgrades that are needed? Back in the late 90's and early 2000's, 2-12 and a 500 watt amp was rattling windows. That fact has not changed.

Sorry, I went on a bit of tangent. With both of my kids in high school, I get lot of audio requests and a lot of feedback on this stuff, as well as hearing opinions they have received from other shops.

Don't apologize. Valid tangent. Honestly in today's world car audio is in a right leaning culture. If we are to get more people to be interested in it then some how we are going to have to get the Orange Guy to say it is bad.

It's not like anybody is forced to read those threads. I think it's just the few people who come here get an answer and move on.

The political thunder dome topic shouldn’t show up on the dash board notifications as this site is an audio forum as it might push people away.

The admin keeps saying traffic is down because google but to be fair all forums are dead except diyamobileaudio. I just visited CACO to look info on some Obsidian subwoofers (graveyard dead) and found some info Sundownz posted before he was solely activated on Facebook because it was too much for him to post all car audio forums. So yeah Facebook replaced lots of web stuff and only a few years ago I finally joined because I couldn’t no longer find anything on the web because everything was on marketplace and drama groups.
