Current events discussion

We have every climate zone here in America. If we NEEDED to grow all our own foods, we could. Any source of energy we need can also be had right here within our own borders.
Except for fruits and vegetables. We couldn't swing full independence on those anymore.
Stop using my example as a reason not to show us what your brilliant mind would do.
Ahhh more of the "rules are for thee, but not for me" mantra.

Your plan is to be the supreme being of the planet and make the world bow to our desires, which you think is realistic.
Mine is to make it so every worker can at least make enough money to survive, while their boss can still make enough for ten lifetimes, and pull all offshore manufacturing back to the US, and I'm a "dictator" for that.
Yep.

Such a defeatist attitude. "America is too weak, we need other countries!!"

There are plenty of options and we have plenty of land.

Ok, be a man and own your own bullshit. You can tell us what not to do, tell us what we should do. Come on, show us how smart you are.

You have a singular wit Rob. Stop assuming you know what my plan is. Anyone with common sense and or who is able to comprehend even the simplest of ideas would know that is not remotely what I want or what I suggested.

I will simplify it for you... just for you Rob.

We need to stop letting communist countries dry **** us in the *** while dictating how we do business with them.

We allow them to do business in the US but they heavily limit our businesses in their countries. It is not an equal partnership and it needs to be.

That's for weed. Makes terrible tomatoes, lol.

Hydroponic Tomatoes vs. Traditional Tomatoes

In this section, we compare hydroponic tomatoes with traditional tomatoes in several key aspects:

  • Taste and Quality: One of the most common myths is that hydroponic tomatoes lack the flavor of tomatoes grown in soil. However, recent studies suggest that, depending on how nutrients are managed in the hydroponic system, consistency in quality and flavor is superior in hydroponic tomatoes, thanks to precise control over growing conditions.
  • Growth and Performance: Hydroponic tomatoes grow faster and offer a higher yield per square meter than traditional tomatoes. This is due to the optimal and constant supply of nutrients and water in the growbags, eliminating plant stress and maximizing photosynthetic efficiency.
  • Environmental impact: Traditional tomato farming requires large amounts of water and often the use of pesticides and herbicides that can contaminate soil and water. Instead, hydroponic systems use up to 90% less water than traditional agriculture and minimize the need for chemicals, offering a more sustainable and environmentally friendly option.
  • Economic Viability: The costs of a hydroponic system are reduced in the long term due to the increased efficiency in water and nutrient use, as well as the reduction in pesticide use. Additionally, the ability to grow hydroponic tomatoes year-round can significantly increase farmers’ income.

Such a defeatist attitude. "America is too weak, we need other countries!!"
If we want to make products that a$7/hr worker can afford, we sure do.
For prosperity to exist, someone ALWAYS has to suffer, otherwise everything is just a draw. I work 40 hours to produce food, you work 40 hours to make consumer goods. You need my food, I need your consumer goods.
We trade, and break even. No prosperity.
The prosperity comes when I can produce the food faster and cheaper than you produce your goods. We still have an even trade, but I prosper with free time that you don't get. So you suffer.

When things are finite, someone's "more" is always going to be someone's "less".
That will never change.

There are plenty of options and we have plenty of land.
Not enough for the quantity we need with the growing seasons we have.
Ok, be a man and own your own bullshit. You can tell us what not to do, tell us what we should do. Come on, show us how smart you are.
You gave your fantasy plan, I gave mine. Which one is more achievable, and which one benefits Joe and Jane Citizen more?

So your plan is NOT the plan that you shared? Did the frog in your pocket write it for you?
Pretty disingenuous to post that if it's not real.

We need to stop letting communist countries dry **** us in the *** while dictating how we do business with them.
So us getting cheap goods from China because they pay their workers a lot less than our workers could EVER survive on, is "dry ******* us in the ***"? Seems that WE are the ones winning in that game.
We get cheap goods, and we get to continue underpaying our workers.

The cycle can continue because populations will always grow, and we will always want the most for the least.

We allow them to do business in the US but they heavily limit our businesses in their countries. It is not an equal partnership and it needs to be.
OK. Then my plan to pay people here a living wage and then in-shore all manufacturing is perfectly reasonable.
We don't get to dictate law in other countries, unless you become the supreme leader of the world, like in your "take care of America" plan.

"depending on how nutrients are managed in the hydroponic system"
This is a CAN be scenario. Go to the store in the "on" season and buy a hydroponic tomato, and a tomato grown in good soil.
Tell me they are the same.

The prosperity is life. Being able to live. Anything above that (cell phones, fancy clothes, fast food and so on) are luxuries.
Not enough for the quantity we need with the growing seasons we have.
Back that up with facts that I can't dispute and I might accept that claim.
You gave your fantasy plan, I gave mine. Which one is more achievable, and which one benefits Joe and Jane Citizen more?
No, you gave a smart *** response.

Again, singular view. I literally explained that they do business here but we are severely limited doing business there.

I read those too Rob. Do you not get that I am mocking you by immediately posting something in opposition to you?

Also, nobody said they are the SAME.
