1. Halted the the flow of drugs into our country.
2. Halted the demand for drugs by our citizens.
3. Increased US manufacturing.
4. Increased our exports.
5. Decreased illegal immigration into the US.

It was obviously a success when he did it the first time.

A buddy of mine recently died from fentanyl. I'm sure his family would pay the cost of tariffs to get cooperation from foreign countries to help reduce the flow of opiates.

I've been fortunate that a fentanyl od hasn't touched my family (or friends) but because it's cut into pretty much every drug on the street all it would take is a buddy falling off the wagon. And I'm very concerned for my kiddo...she's not far from the age where kids try things. No matter how much I talk to her about drugs and whatnot there's no guarantee she won't try something that's been cut with fentanyl. I seriously doubt I'm the only parent worried about this.

I'm all against inflation and rising prices because rarely is there a good reason for it. If tariffs or declaring the cartels terrorist organizations gets the Mexican government off the sidelines...that's a plenty good reason to pay a bit more at the stores.

Mexico and Canada have tiny economies compared to the US and legitimately can't afford a trade war without some serious drop in gdp. Even though the threat of tariffs or even enacting them is to provide incentive to get both countries to the table talking.

You BELIEVE him, because "MAGA!", but he is lying when he says China will pay a tariff that the US places on imported goods. China will not pay a tariff on goods we get from them, any more than you would pay a VAT on speakers you ship to Canada.

Go to China. Buy a stereo at the duty-free shop in Guangzhou Airport. Bring it back here. You are now the importer.
Guess who will pay the 25% tariff?
I can assure you 1,000% that it's not going to be paid by the operator of the duty-free shop where you bought the stereo.
It's going to be paid by YOU, the importer.

It's the same if you buy one stereo and hand-carry it back, if you buy a crate and it gets flown over, or if you buy a shipping container full and it floats across the ocean on a boat to get here.

That's reality. That's how tariffs work.
