Subs playing music when radio is at 0 volume.

Good Afternoon,

I recently installed 2 12in subs into my vehicle but when I turn my radio to zero. The subs are still playing to the current song that is playing. Does anyone know how to fix this issue. I had to install a line output converter so I'm not sure if that is an issue or if something else is causing it. Thanks for the help in advance!
