Current events discussion

The problem is we may see major violence or a major incident like 9/11 type effect or say a nuke goes off in Eastern Europe, we are in such dangerous times. There's soooo much that can happen before November and before January, like WW3 with Russia or whoever. There's so many cards yet to be played to maintain power.

"The first tier sniper’s four-man team holds the world record for longest confirmed sniper kill (3.5 kms) in history, after taking out an ISIS fighter in Iraq in 2017."

"“I have no doubts in my mind that the shooter had some help from somewhere within an agency, an organization or the government,” he said."

Both sides are fawked, which is why anybody with a D or R next their name rarely gets my vote. I agree, Elon's purchase of twitter was based on principle. I completely disagree that the GOP and Trump in particular are on a mission to save democracy.
I believe, at the end of the day, some may not want democracy at all. However, the dems seem to be the ones taking it away. For example, abortion was on a national level. Every state has different beliefs and different life styles. Trump put it on the states to decide. Why should the perimeter states get to choose how the rest of the states are run?

Right now, it looks like Kamaltoe might be running in Joe's place. Newsom is still a consideration, but he just pissed off a lot of people.

Biden had a bunch of requests that needed to be met if decided to step down. One is making sure his son and brother don't go to prison.

Big Mike is in the talks, but there is a major battle within the liberal ranks. Even Clinton is fighting the Obamas. Like what was already mentioned, Kamaltoe will have to voluntarily step down because they can't replace a black woman with just anyone.

Actually, the Dems did not make abortion on a national level. What the USSC did was establish a woman's right to abortion (or more accurately healthcare privacy) up to ~17 weeks and established that the state needed to demonstrate a "compelling interest" to restrict abortion after the ~17 week period. That's why I'm not fond of the USSC's decision in Jackson, because they could have found in favor of Jackson v Dobbs without overturning Roe v Wade.

The "perimeter states" get to choose because we're a republic, not a confederation. We've already had this debate twice as a nation, the second time involving a lot of bullets.

I've been wondering for a while if Kamala has been behind the curtain running the show; obviously Biden wasn't capable of running the gov't.

"“The thing that I really want to emphasize here is that the homeland is not a sanctuary any longer,” U.S. Air Force Col. Kristopher Struve, the vice director of operations for the U.S.-Canadian North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), said during a virtual roundtable hosted by the Missile Defense Advocacy Association (MDAA) in 2021. “There are opportunities for our adversaries to employ weapons from distances that they could strike critical infrastructure in the United States early in a conflict and create some challenges for us to produce our military power.”"
