They do have say via the representatives they elect. There is a reason the founding fathers settled on a representative republic vs a direct democracy. I don't know how far back you went in the thread, but the Californicators that moved to Colorado voted to lock in budgets because it's easy to sell measures that prevent cuts in education, police, etc. It's also easy to sell tax cuts as a ballot measure. The way the system is designed is so the closer to home the more influence the voter has...by removing voting on local taxation you also start to remove a basic checks on local government...They do have say via the representatives they elect.
