So if he was actually "trying to overturn the election" in the courts, he would have been attempting to do so legally and in accordance with applicable laws... so, how would that be a bad thing?

What does that even mean? I asked you the same question you posed; did you miss that? If Trump's attempts to overturn the election in court = legality, then why don't the left's attempts to use the courts to prevent Trump from running count as legal.
