I was so wrong. So I've been saying that transgender athletes can, could, should compete in an open division. Apparently that was an option for Lesley Mumford and Mumford chose to compete in the women's division, crushing the competition by 17 minutes. So much for my theory that former males could compete in some sort of open/genderless division.
Lesley Mumford, who transitioned in 2017, won in the female category of the 100-mile Desert Gravel Co2Ut. Mumford also came in sixth overall in the female category of the race.
