What has been the most reliable amplifier you have actually used yourself to date?

Funny thing about old school. Back in 1991 I was sponsored by LA Sound. I blew so many LA Sound amplifiers, it was'nt funny. I still love the looks of the old LA Sound amplifiers but would never buy one.

Anybody remember when Coustic was the hottest thing on the market?

I had a Coustic Power Logic Amp-268, kinda miss that amp.

PPI PC2150 bought back in 1998 I think. Been in tons of cars bridged on subs and run on highs stereo. Still works like new that thing.

Us amps 1000x bought I believe around 2002 ish. Amp has been on tons of stuff just like the PPI but has been run way harder. Still works like new.

Coustic used to make those old Radio Shack amplifiers during the '[90s. Those things were rock solid as well had a couple of those and couldn't blow them up when I tried to. So cheap also at the local RS store since I had a friend that worked there, lol. Got them basically at cost.

I had a couple LA Sound amps. They looked pretty cool with the graphics that was really unique at the time. But man... Those jokers were garbage. I was happy to get them replaced with some Hifonic VIIs. I did run a couple of Coustic power Logic series. Those were some surprising amps for as cheap as they were. I later ended up with the Colustic 380, and a couple 190s that were really decent amps. You could make breakfast on the 380 after pounding for a good two hours. All those got stolen out of my car inside a wrecking yard among quite a bit of audio gear over night that was Gated. deff an inside job.

I had two PC250s and a PC275 that were pretty much bullet proof amps. I had them for years. Just recently sold them.Great amps

I remember the old Radio Shack (Black) amps. They wouldn't blow up because they were temp protected. They hit like 105 degrees they would shut off
I had a 60x60 one(Realistic 60x60). That thing was a Tank, and prob would take up the left side of a sentra back seat. LOL

I have an old MTX Thunder 275x Gold from around 1996. Still rocks. 380wrms bridged into 4 ohms.
Ive got one old MTX Blue thunder Pro 75.2 left that still works great and has been through some hell and back. UGLY!! Thing weighs about 5 lbs. like a dead weight Brick

I had 3 pc2150’s all bought at the same time. 2 of them used originally to run 6 JL 8w6’s and the third one for the passive front stage. They been in so many cars and setups till I finally sold 2 of them some years back. The third one is in my buddies work truck on a lower power sub I built him. Still going strong!

I think that amp was pretty much the same as Gold series. The MTX started cheapening everything to meet Circuit City price points.:cry::cry:

The older Fosgate amps. I have ran them from the time of the punch 50 all the way up to the Power TD1500 amps. These days I don't think you can go wrong with Korean amps for durability. I'm running Brazilians now, cant say much about them except they put out a ton of power.
