I'm looking at the number of guns as if the ever increasing number of guns has something to do with the ever increasing amount of gun violence. Just pure ratios tells me there is probably 10+ in my cul-de-sac. Additionally, I'm looking at the fact that if a society pumps 100s of millions of guns into the population, it is inevitable that some of the guns will end up in the hands of the irresponsible, the crazy, the criminal, etc. And while we've pumped those 100s of millions of guns we done nothing to regulate guns and have only made it easier to get them and next to impossible to track them. No licensing, no registering, no tracking.

It's 100% clear that guns actually do kill people and that's exactly what most guns are designed to do, but the gun lobby keeps telling me that it's people that kill people. Yet they continually stand in the way of any means of associating bad guys with the guns.
We will disagree on this I guess. Our society has turned fvcking stupid and takes too many pills. That’s the problem. The existence of the gun isn’t the problem any more than the fork being at fault for fat Americans.

You are right that the guns don't kill people, people do. Usually one's with mental illness or other issues. The problem is how easy it is for those people to get guns.

And before you say they will use a knife if they can't get a gun, it's much harder to have a mass stabbing than a mass shooting. If I see someone stabbing a person, I can run away and call for help or run at them and try to stop the hand that's swinging the knife. If I run from the shooter, they don't have to chase me, just aim.

The more people feel they have less consequences for killing someone the more killings there will be. The gun is one of the more convenient and quick ways to kill but not the only way to kill. Simply banning or controlling guns and or ammunition will not stop a determined person from achieving their goal. They will just get creative.

Take away all the guns...how long til those same kind of people start making explosive devices, driving a vehicles into crowds...bad people who want to do bad things will always find a way...blaming the gun is a "feelgood" scapegoat...if it's the gun though, where were all the problems in my childhood years...or my dad's...or his dad's...

Guns are so much easier to get illegally than legally. The only reason I don’t think gun control will work is because I know the black market will just provide what a gun shop won’t. Law abiding citizens wont own guns if you make restrictive laws, but criminals won’t care and will own them anyway. When you remove guns and go easier on criminal behavior, which is what we are advocating for in most cities, you will have criminals with guns and law abiding citizens unarmed. I just don’t see that as a real solution.

The real question is how this secures votes for those who want to restrict guns. We should all by this point know damn well things are only done for votes and or money.

Lol think of the cartels if guns were made illegal. That would be their next massive business.

Where did I say take away guns? I just said make them harder to get. Dig a little deeper on the background checks.
Most of the mass shootings in the US aren't being done by criminals, they're just people that buy guns, buy 5000 rounds the day they turn 18,etc. Why does an 18 year old need 5000 rounds? Maybe someone should ask a few questions.

You can't make them harder to get...you can make them harder to get legally...there will always be criminals selling contraband no matter what it is...

Wouldn't it be awesome if there were just some way for say a doctor alert some body - "hey Bob went off his meds" and we could check to make sure Bob wasn't buying up massive amounts of guns, ammo and tactical gear.
