Current setup is American Bass xfl 10”
Switching it up to a pair of Ct Sounds Strato 8’s.

Looks TIGHT man!! LOL. Curious as to how you like the 8s. I though about picking up a Meso8. Hows your 2k holding up??
I will definitely give my opinion of the 8’s.
Meso 8’s were An idea but I went with the Strato’s because of the box size.
.5 cubes per. Not sure how accurate that is but I am putting the pair in 1.25 net @32-34hz. Haven’t decided on the tuning yet.
2k is doing real well. Guess the first one I received was a dud, this one , noproblems at all!

These the first 8's you have tried in the truck? How did you like the AB 10"?
This will be about the 4th 8” I’ve tried in this truck. Briefly had a pair of Skar svr 8’s, subs/port facing up. Alpine type R 8(one) behind seat with port firing to side, one more bit can’t remember the brand, lol. Skar 8’s we’re actually loud for what they were but I didn’t like the size of the box I built. Alpine didn’t last, surround seperated from cone.
American bass 10 currently in there sounds really good. Loud(to me) and really hits the lows. Just always wanting to try new things and want to compare a pair of eights to this 10 on same power. Skar 8’s before had Less power, and smaller alternator.

That 10 box is tuned to 32 hz? I forget. It’ll be cool for sure to see how these two compare. That’s an XFL 10? Those 8’s and that AB 10 are so different in ways, it’ll be interesting to see how they perform vs each other. I bet the 8’s might hit a little higher harder, with their Fs and xmax. But idk, how small of box they can use might allow them to resonate lower in a larger box easily. The AB’s tend to have a large amount of throw designed into them, too (xmech). It’ll be interesting 🤓

many of the Upper end AB subs have a good amount of clearance but lack the winding width on the coil to take advantage of it. One of my favorite subs to buy blown and rebuild as you can make them perform way better!

Do you mean how long the coil is and how much of it stays in the field? Not sure what exactly you mean, just curious.

the length of the windings on the coil from bottom to top where it ends. A hawk 10 for example only has about 10-12mm (can’t remember exactly which number) of mathematically calculated xmax using winding width and top plate thickness. Last ones I rebuilt I used a coil to achieve 25mm mathematically calculated with aluminum flat wire and those little guys are being run on a 3500x1 half bridge and doing wonderful. The the stock coil he pretty much nuked them 😂🤣.
