2 hours every 130 miles? Yeah, you are right, I won't be bothered with that. Let's waste vacation time charging a car, in the sun, or rain, or snow. That's 13 hours of vacation time wasted 26 hours over all charging a car when I could just drive a clean burning diesel. There in lies the rub. Ultimately, we (on aggregate) will not do what is best for future generations (see massive national debt). We'll run up the debt, pollute the planet, create generational wealth transfer programs to "steal" from our own children, etc, etc, etc. So unless gov't, legislators, etc step in to do something, ThxOne can't be bothered to spend 2 hours charging his vehicle to make his camping trip, when instead he could have spent 20 minutes at a gas pump.
If you had to charge the Electric truck 6.5 times @ $25 each time that is $162.5. ONE WAY. Plus the waiting. A 2022 6.7L has a 34 gallon tank... call it $380. ONE WAY. Less waiting. So you can save $217 going electric but you can add 26 hours of waiting to your trip.
