Birch enclosures stain color and finish??

I am waiting for a gp audio, custom enclosure to be made.. Im thinking i want to stain the birch a dark gray color and give it a matte clear Polycrylic finish.. Minwax has a Semi-Transparent stain color Carbonite that i think would look good. I found a soundqubed box with a color that i like.. Ill attach a pic. Was wondering what colors and finishes you guys have used on your birch boxes? Attach photos!! Does anybody know what stain and finish soundcubed used on this box?

Mine looks different when I put gloss, but it looks similar before to the sounqube. Pics before gloss are in the thread below. I think I used ebony stain from minwax mixed with early American to lighten it a bit. With no gloss I would have went lighter. I've done alot of different colored stains on birch. This one wasn't my favorite

I haven’t used birch but I’ve been staining with a black/ebony stain and really like the results. I haven’t used any sealer/poly though.

I have 1800 watts and 2 alpine x subs sealed at factory specs now.. Upgrading to 3600 watts and four x-w10d4 's in a 7+ cubic foot birch box tuned to 35hz... I can wait to get it all installed!!

That looks like a black stain to me. Probably just a couple coats or maybe just one to keep some of the wood hue.

That’s the same stain I used on my last box and loved the results. Went great with my interior.

I’ve upgraded my table saw and circular saw and it’s made a world of difference.

I think when they did my box it was done in black paint then purple splashes all over it to match the dust cone colors. I can send you a pic via pm if need be. And it was done in 1" Russian Birch if that matters for the materials. But @Buck would know for sure if it was black paint or black stain since it was his box builder that did the all the work.

On my underseat enclosure I went with Unicorn Spit Red Pepper then took the edges down and light sand for a distressed rat roddish feel. Other enclosure is blue from Next Level Fabrications.
