Adding tweets to help up front ?

As some of you guys already know, I have a 2021 Jeep Wrangler and added the Stinger Heigh10. I am still not happy with the lack of highs. No matter what I do with the equalizer, it’s still crappy sounding.

current setup:

Hertz 87.3 (3.5”) in upper dash running off of the stinger Heigh10 head unit

Polk db652s in the knee panels and overhead soundbar running offus acoustics Barbara Ann amp

12” FI “Q” in rear cargo area powered by a teramps 3500

I did not want to give those 3.5s power from an amp, in fear of frying them.
The Barbara Ann seems to have way too much power for the polks as well.

i am wondering if It would help if I added a set of tweeters up high, in front, on the roll bar.

thank you for the info. I am really surprised I am not getting the highs. I turned the gains up on the Barbara ann for the fronts and they got loud, however, it almost immediately cut off. I would imagine this is it going into protection mode from clipping. Not certain though. I don’t trust any of the local shops to help set the gains correctly.

I was hoping I could just install some tweeters up on the roll bar plastic, near the front corner of the doors. Then run them off of the Heigh10 as well. But it doesn’t sound Like that will make much of a difference.

My 2¢ - Buy some good quality tweeters of over 1.1" in size and mount them in adapters made for the dash of the Jeep. Run them on channels 1 and 2 of Barbara Ann.

Run some quality mid - midbass speakers in the doors. Run these on channels 3 and 4 of Barbara Ann.

Set the gains correctly and you should have GOBS of highs.

Run the doors crossed over at 80hz to 3.5kHz and the tweeters from 3.5kHz up to 20kHz to start. The Heigh10 should be able to EQ the active setup easily.

Thank you. I will try this weekend. The db652s are said to get loud. I just don’t want to blow them.

I have 3 sets of older DB 6.5s Coax. They are all rated for 60 rms. I usually use them on a test bench. I usually run 50 rms up to the 60 and they sound really great in a sealed speaker box, even in the door cavities in my truck with an older Hifonics VII Gemeni, These you have are rated for 100rms, and should really shine with the corect amount of power. But needing highs up front, a good loud tweeter on its own power will get it done. Location of speakers and direction and even door prepping make all the difference for a $20 speaker as well as a $500 speakers. Poor installation and chosen locations /direction can lead to poor results
