Can you use alternators made from other car brands

Hello i have a 3650w system and im wondering if you can use alternator from another car brand!
Does it fit?
If it does fit will it harm my components or cause error codes?

I have a Volvo 745 1991 and i cant find alternators with more than 160a for my car and they cost like 6000 Swedish krona like $650 each and if i want 2 i cant because i just cant afford that but then i found a alternator with 150a for 2000 Swedish krona $200 each it says its made for ford and volvo c70 i can show a picture

The mounting holes look exactly the same so they may fit but will it cause harm to my components?

Physically check the ribs and the charge harness plugs. It could work with a bit homework

Look at the part numbers. Find a cross reference and see if they cross. If they do, you are golden.
