Ironically both sides of my family come from Kentucky and surrounding areas (Ohio, Virginia...) but mostly Kentucky and Ohio.

Cops are the worst about doing that here. A lot of time they park right in front of the door and leave their car running. And yes I have actually waited to see why and they where merely in there shopping. Also Walmart employees aren't allowed to park in front of the doors, the premium spots you call them, or in the front rows. I'm curious tho, why would these things bother you?

Your intuition is on point. That's a rare thing these days.

It's an adjustment thing for me. I did 22 years active duty military. Things were very structured and rules had to be followed or in my job, many people could get hurt or killed. Additionally, you had to depend on others. Our backgrounds didn't matter and where we were from didn't matter. Once I retired, I came back out here to the civilian world and life is very much like a free for all. Rules and laws go out the window just like fast food trash on the side of the road.

Although I know its not true, it sometimes feels as if people are all about themselves and they purposely do things they know are wrong until someone catches them. Once caught, the person would rather fight or exclaim "you don't tell me what to do" versus correct their behavior.

I love my country and the people but it's hard to do sometimes when I see people not care about others and their own country. I think a trip to less fortunate places where hunger, disease, war torn infrastructure, lack of health care, security and poverty are the norm would certainly give people a better appreciation of the freedoms they have and overall security of the nation where they live. The nightly news doesn't even come close to providing the insight.
