I don't disagree that he should not have been there while under age with a weapon. I think still, the biggest idiot awards go to the morons who thought they could attack a person who had a weapon such as Kyle did and thought they were tougher than bullets. I think convict on possession of a firearm while under age and drop the rest of the charges. Chase after and attack a person with a weapon, accept that the person may end you.

I have a few questions about this that stem from my lack of knowledge of American Law
Is it legal for a 17 year old to own an assault rifle, or any gun?
If not then who armed him and why are they not on trial
I thought the second amendment says your allowed to take up arms to protect your property
If they were never asked to be there there how is it legal to take up arms on someone else's property or just walk down the street with a loaded weapon
I realize that Americans love there guns and that's never going to change but maybe some tweaks to the law about where your allowed to use the gun
Defending or protecting yourself is one thing, If what those militia guys were doing that night was legal then maybe that's the problem.
I watched a lot of video and I can see how the argument can be made that he feared for his life however your a 17 year old white kid with an assault rifle walking through a black lives matter protest.
Don't start no shit won't be no shit
Couple things are clear, if he was black there is no way in hell he would have even been able to do any of it and those militia guys were just a bunch or racist rednecks who found a way to insert themselves into the situation.
They came looking for a problem and found it so why is the guy who organized it, a former city councilman not being charged
His actions lead to the death of two people

One guy got shot in the back. That doesn't sound like self defense to me. The kid is a thug. Just because he's white everybody wants to be on his side. If he was black people would want him to get the death penalty and you know it. Just watch the video of Rittenhouse beating up a girl. I couldn't get my head around it when I saw the video of him walking up to the cops with his hands in the air and they just drove by him, people screaming he just shot someone to boot.

When did it become illegal for a minor to own a gun. I don't even think that's one of the charges. I've had guns since I was a kid. I got a .22 when I was like ten

Well I see that that charge is a misdemeanor in Wisconsin. Minors are only allowed to have guns for hunting.
